I know we already shared our recipe for Key Lime Pie but this Vanilla Mint Milkshake is too good to resist! Yes, it’s a bit sugary but, as long as you have sweet treats in moderation, they can be part of a healthy diet! Plus, you could always swap out the ice cream for frozen yogurt and the regular milk for almond milk!
Before we get into it, I just wanted to give you a couple quick tips. The first is to find food coloring that comes in a squeeze bottle or has a dropper. If you absolutely must use a bottle that has a traditional mouth, wear some gloves because my fingers are stained green today! At least, I’m festive!
Another tip is to go light on the peppermint extract and add a little if you need to. The flavor can be overwhelming for some. Also, we used 2% milk instead of whole milk and it turned out just fine. This is one of those recipes that you should play with. Make it your own!
2 cups vanilla ice cream
1/4 cup milk
1/4 teaspoon peppermint extract
1/2 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
3 or 4 drops green liquid food coloring
Optional garnish – whipped cream and green sprinkles!
It’s pretty easy! Throw everything into your blender and, once smooth, pour into glass. This can work as one serving in a tall glass or two smaller ones.
